Melvin J. Johnson Sr., a beloved minister and a guiding light in his community, left this world on September 19, 2024, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas Born on September 16, 1955, in the heart of Fort Worth, Melvin was a man who carried the spirit of his city within him, touching the lives of many with his unwavering faith and dedication.

His journey through life was marked by an earnest calling to serve others, and as a minister, Melvin wielded the power of words and compassion to inspire change. His voice was a beacon of hope, echoing in the hearts of those who sought solace and guidance. He poured every ounce of his being into the ministry, becoming a trusted confidant and a source of strength for countless individuals navigating life’s challenges.

In the weeks leading up to his departure, Melvin’s unwavering spirit remained bright. Those who knew him will gather to pay their respects and celebrate a life lived with purpose. Viewing services will be held on September 30, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home and Cremation, located at 5701 East Loop 820 South in Fort Worth. The following day, family and friends will gather at Pentecostal C.O.G.I.C., 2815 Chenault Street, starting at 10:00 AM for the funeral service.  Here, we will honor Melvin’s legacy and the indelible mark he has left on our hearts.

As we prepare to bid farewell, we hold close the memories of a gentle spirit—one who loved deeply, laughed freely, and served with unmatched fervor. Melvin J. Johnson Sr. will forever remain a cherished guiding star, illuminating our paths even in his absence.
