Ray Anthony Thomas

Mr. Ray Anthony Thomas was born June 10, 1959 in Lubbock, TX to Mr. Quil Thomas and Mrs. Shirley McCowan.

He reclaimed his education and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1977. He also attended Fort Worth ISD.

Mr. Thomas accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. Ray loved the Lord. Later on in his life, he attended Spoken Word Church under the leadership of Pastor Matthew L. Brown, with Aunt Linda “Pee Wee” Moore.

Ray was employed at Ben E. Keith as a truck driver for many years until he relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee. In Tennessee is where he retired as a cement truck driver for Chattanooga Cement Truck Company.

Ray loved fashion, he was a true dapper guy. A neatly and stylishly dressed man he was known as. He loved to dance, you could catch him swinging out on the dance floor where he created his signature moves. He also enjoyed attending concerts but most of all loved and enjoyed creating a lifetime of fun memories with his family and friends.

On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, Ray Anthony Thomas answered the Master’s call and received his wings at Stonegate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Fort Worth, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Quil Thomas and Shirley McCowen; brother, Bobby Alonzo; sister, LaQuita Joseph; and two uncles.

Left to celebrate his victory of eternal life is his beloved family; his children, Antoine White of San Antonio, Texas, Rayon Thomas (Ashley) of Houston, Texas, Derious Thomas (Jerrae) of Houston, Texas, Anthony Jackson (Tasheka) of Fort Worth, Texas; his wife, Gail Thomas; his grandchildren, Anthony D, Jackson, Laila White, Jordan Jackson, Jaidah Jackson, Canyon Thomas, Kamber Thomas, Kori Thomas, Kaycee Thomas; his siblings, Rhonda, Shelia, Donna Thomas of Dallas, Texas; his brother-in-law, Dallas Joseph of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his uncle, Alfred Shedrick of Fort Worth, Texas; his dear cousin/sister/care taker, Danielle Shedrick of Fort Worth, Texas, and a host of other family and friends.
