A Dallas-based beauty platform is heading to New York City to explore the impact major retailers have on brands as they pull back on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) commitments. Sadiaa Black Beauty Guide, the premier digital platform and directory for Black beauty brands, will host a panel at International Beauty Show.
Sadiaa and National Black Beauty Week founder Stephenetta (isis) Harmon will moderate “Building Legacy Brands: The Future of Black-Owned Beauty Businesses,” a panel designed to equip beauty entrepreneurs, stylists, and professionals with the strategies they need to thrive. Featured panelists include Corey Huggins, founder of Ready To Beauty, along with two of Dallas’ own: Rodney Barnett, trichologist and CEO, Innovations Today, and Autumn Yarbrough, founder/CEO, Nu Standard.
This conversation comes at a pivotal time for Black beauty businesses. Although Black consumers drive $10.2 billion annually in beauty sales, Black-owned brands still make up less than 3% of the market.
By bringing this conversation to such a major stage, Sadiaa Black Beauty Guide is helping Black beauty brands—and the professionals who support them—have access to critical insights, strategies, and connections to build long-term success.
“Building Black beauty brands isn’t just about the entrepreneurs behind them—it’s about building generational and communal wealth, as well as championing representation with products that serve diverse consumers,” said Harmon. “We want attendees to walk away with actionable strategies to build and maintain visible, profitable, and influential businesses—no matter the market conditions.”
IBS New York takes place March 23-25, 2025, at the Jacob Javits Center in New York. “Building Legacy Brands will be hosted on March 24 at 2 PM.
