AMARIE JAI WHITE

In the gentle embrace of Fort Worth Texas, on February 23, 2001, a spirit that would light up the lives of many was born to the world. Amarie Jai White, fondly known as Jai, radiated warmth and positivity, traits that made him not just a beloved son, brother, and friend but also a pillar of love and laughter in every room he entered. With an infectious smile that could illuminate the darkest days, Jai embarked on life with a remarkable zeal, cherishing each moment as if it were his last.

Though his life was tragically cut short at the tender age of 23 on November 14, 2024, Jai’s legacy is etched into the hearts of all who knew him. A well-known barber, he touched many with his skilled hands and generous heart. Known for offering family discounts and free haircuts to those in need, AJ’s passion for his craft was matched only by his commitment to his community and family.

His journey through education began at North Crowley High School in Fort Worth, before he proudly graduated from Lewisville High School. As he transitioned from student to barber, Jai embraced his role in shaping the lives of others, always the tallest in the room, he also stood tall as a role model for his younger siblings. To them, he wasn’t just an older brother; he was a protector, and a source of unconditional love.

Those who cherished him will forever remember Jai not only for his jovial nature and incredible humor—always a joke at hand—but also for the profound connections he nurtured with his loved ones. His mother, Tiffany Davis, father, Andre White, and his brothers Kendall, Kamerin McDole, and Za’Quore White carry his spirit with them, along with a loving extended family that includes his grandmothers Felicia Davis-Gunn (Willie) , Janice Crawford, Naomi Hawkins and Arnell Freeman, as well as his great-grandmother Annie B. Davis and great-grandfather Charles Davis. He is also survived by uncles Sedrick Eddington, Reginald Mead (Felicia), Joseph Watson IV and Nicholas Johnson, aunts Charlotte Campbell (Joseph), Phyllis Cobb, Alexandria Freeman, Vivica Freeman, and his girlfriend Asia Trapp, along with his family fur baby Daisy and numerous other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Victor Lavon Freeman and Arthur James White.

AJ’s interests were as vibrant as his character. He found joy in eating, especially relishing his mother’s cooking, and sported a deep-seated love for basketball, becoming part of the Select AAU Mash Basketball program since the age of five. Above all, he cherished his role as an inspiring older brother, embodying the love and encouragement that would propel his siblings through life’s many challenges.

As we reflect on the life of Amarie Jai White, we grieve the loss of a shining light that has been extinguished too soon, yet we celebrate the incredible impact he made on each of us. With every smile he graced upon us, and every moment we shared, Jai taught us the importance of love, laughter, and living life fully. Though he may have departed from this world, his spirit remains an everlasting presence in our hearts.
