EVELYN LOUISE JERNIGAN

Evelyn Louise Jernigan, known for her feisty spirit and love of all things with a bit of “bling,” passed away on May 28, 2024. She was born on April 4, 1943. Evelyn’s essence was a delightful blend of spicy boldness and sweet tenderness, always approaching life with directness and candor.

In her leisure time, Evelyn found joy in dancing, scouring thrift stores for hidden treasures, and indulging in classic shows like Gun Smoke. Her favorite movie, Rampage, held a special place in her heart, offering her moments of entertainment and escape. Additionally, she cherished the thrill of playing bingo, finding companionship and excitement in the game.

Evelyn’s proudest accomplishments revolved around her family. She held deep pride in her children and grandchildren, their milestones becoming a reflection of her unwavering love and dedication as a mother and grandmother.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Evelyn will remember her fiery personality that lit up every room she entered. Her legacy is one of authenticity – she never shied away from being exactly who she was, unapologetically embracing her individuality.

Evelyn Louise Jernigan will be dearly missed by her surviving family members.

A viewing to honor Evelyn’s life will be held on June 4, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home and A Crematory in Dallas. A Celebration of Life ceremony will follow on June 5, 2024, commencing at 11:00 AM at Community Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Hill.

May Evelyn’s memory live on through the vibrant impact she had on those around her, forever etched in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
