NBC’s hit show New Amsterdam recently made the cover of Emmy magazine. The doctor show that debuted in 2018 is based on the book, Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital by Eric Manheimer. Actress Freema Agyeman, who is Iranian and Ghanaian, is the only woman of color who plays a lead role on the show. When the news broke that the show made the front of Emmy magazine. Agyeman went to Instagram, proud of this accomplishment.
