Dallas – Say It Loud! Readers and Writers and the Tulisoma South Dallas Book Club is hosting a community conversation acknowledging National Literacy Month at the African American Museum of Dallas located at 3536 Grand Avenue, Dallas, TX 75210. This community discussion was stimulated by the success of the Tulisoma South Dallas Book Fair held on August 20, 2022, and the unfortunate recent news of the math and reading scores for America’s 9-year-olds that fell dramatically during the first two years of the pandemic.
We have assembled a panel of educators, writers, authors, literacy advocates and literary activist to engage in a community dialogue about the aforementioned. A reception and book signing will be held before the conversation from 5:30 to 6:15 pm CST. The conversation starts promptly at 6:30 pm to 8:00 p.m. CST.

The events are free and open to the public.

Our story and the community
Since 1997 Say It Loud! Readers and Writers has provided opportunities for young people and adults to engage in literary activities and events to encourage their personal, educational and career aspirations. Writing workshops, book discussions, readings, and symposiums were held at libraries, bookstores, educational institutions, book fairs, conferences, and businesses.
