OBIT: ERNEST OLEN BOWENS

Ernest Olen Bowes, born on March 27, 1931, and a cherished member of the community, passed away on June 2, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and resilience that touched the lives of many throughout his 94 years.

A prayer service in honor of Ernest will take place on June 13, 2025, from 7:15 PM to 8:15 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. Family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him are invited to gather and share their memories.

The funeral service will follow on June 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Greater St James Temple AME Church, situated at 200 North Jim Miller Road, Dallas, TX 75217. This service will celebrate his rich life and the indelible mark he left on those around him.

Ernest will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on June 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM, where family and friends can pay their final respects. This burial will serve as a solemn reminder of his service and commitment to his country and community.

Ernest is remembered fondly by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched with his wisdom and spirit.
