North Texas Defeats No. 4 Purdue for First -Ever NCAA Tournament Win

The No. 13-seeded the University of North Texas defeated the No. 4-seed Purdue University on Friday night in the first round on the first day of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

It was the first NCCA tournament win in North Texas men’s basketball history.

North Texas won in overtime 78-69. The Mean Green Eagles were led by Javion Hamlet who finished with a double-double (24 pts., 12 rebounds). North Texas will play a TBD team on Sunday in round two.
