Megan Thee Stallion’s ex-best friend, Kelsey Nicole Harris, offered a limited testimony on the 2020 shooting involving Tory Lanez today in Day 7 of the Megan vs Tory trial. Repeatedly responding with “I can’t remember,” Kelsey shocked the entire courtroom when she said she would “plead the fifth” and made what appears to be an immunity deal with the DA.

KELSEY LAWYERED UP, TOO!

Megan Thee Stallion’s former best friend, Kelsey Nicole Harris, stepped into the Los Angeles Superior Court to testify at the trial following the July 2020 shooting involving Megan and Daystarr “Tory Lanez” Peterson, who were also involved in a messy sexual affair.

Harris was seen walking in with her attorney. Upon taking the stand, her attorney announced to the courtroom that she was asserting her fifth amendment rights. Furthering the twist, the prosecution confirmed there was a deal made between Harris and the state for her to have immunity.

Lanez’s defense team looked surprised when Harris asserted her fifth amendment and was given “transactional immunity” — appearing to have made a deal with the District Attorney.

Harris was questioned by the prosecution, stating she “didn’t want to be there” and that she was presently struggling with a death and a bout of postpartum. As the testimony unfolded, George Mgdesyan, one of two of Lanez’s attorneys, asked for a short recess. Still, Judge David Herriford declined.

“DO I HAVE TO ANSWER THAT?”

The prosecution also asked Harris if Lanez threatened to shoot her. She hesitated and asked the judge — “Do I have to answer that?”

Having to answer the question, Judge Herriford also allowed her to consult with her attorney, who appeared to give her a slight nod from a distance. Harris was then pulled from the courtroom to a hallway shortly after returning to the stand. Once on the stand, the district attorney repeated the same question, “Did Tory threaten to shoot you?”

She said she didn’t remember. Before any further questions were answered, the court broke for lunch.

During lunch, Lanez was seen walking out the back of the courthouse in a light brown suit paired with a black turtleneck.

THE FIFTEEN MINUTE BREAK

Shortly after the court commenced from lunch, the district attorneys picked up where they left off — “Did Tory threaten to shoot you?”

“I can’t remember,” Harris told the DA.

According to the District Attorney, Harris said, in previous interviews, that Lanez had threaten to shoot her. Harris responded by saying that a lot of the “stuff” she said during interview(s) was incorrect and that she doesn’t remember what she said.

She also said she “doesn’t remember” what happened the day of the shooting. The prosecution appeared frustrated with Harris’ statements, but continued the cross-examination by asking her about an alleged bribery on Tory’s behalf. The prosecution also asked if the one-million dollars Lanez had offered Megan and Harris was hush money and Harris responded, “No.” When asked what it was for, she said she didn’t remember. The court then went into a short 15-minute break.

KELSEY DOESN’T REMEMBER

Following the 15-minute break, Harris was back on the stand but it seemed that all of the questions the district attorneys asked she replied with a — “I can’t remember.”

Harris also said the night of the shooting was something she couldn’t remember and called it a “drunk night.” She also added that the statements she made in September were not truthful. But when the prosecution asked her what parts of her statements were not truthful, Harris didn’t answer. The DA also asked if she was “paid off or bribed” by Lanez’ defense and she said, “No.”

The former Megan bestie also shared she no longer wanted to be in Los Angeles and that a lot had happened since September and amid those things she was in midst of making funeral arrangements for a loved one and had a sick baby at home.

Day seven ended with a series of questions and “I don’t remember,” responses from Harris.

Lanez’ defense is expected to cross examine Harris tomorrow with a meeting with Judge Herriford to discuss two pictures prosecution is presenting as evidence, but has not submitted to defense to review. This isn’t the first time evidence hasn’t been passed on to Lanez’ defense. During the jury selection, prosection mentioned a video they would submit as evidence, but Lanez’s lead lawyer, George Mgdesyan, pointed out they hadn’t reviewed said video.

Presiding Judge Herriford adjourned court until Dec. 14.
