The free four-part online seminar will educate and support Black women seeking an elected position.The North Texas Cluster of The Links, Incorporated announces the launch of The Campaign College 2022, as part of the Black Women Empowering Black Woman initiative, to inform and encourage Black women seeking an elected position. The four-week online seminar begins Wednesday, January 19, 2022.Black women are underrepresented in elected offices at all levels. The Campaign College is committed to providing guidance on running a campaign and aiding in serving effectively once elected. Candidates will learn the skills and in-depth knowledge of running a winning campaign from elected officials and political experts.Sessions will include:
- Are You Really Ready to Run?
- The First Steps to Becoming a Candidate
- The Importance of Research, Finance, and Compliance
- How to Craft a Winning Message
- Identifying Your Base
“There are scores of Black Women who are well-qualified to serve in elected office but do not know how to get started and find the idea of fundraising scary. Participants will leave the Campaign College knowing the necessary steps and possessing the needed skills for developing and implementing an effective and efficient political campaign,” emphasizes Helen Giddings, BWEBW Committee Chair.Participant space is limited.
