Live Out Proud 2022DALLAS, Texas – Dallas Pride readies for its return to Fair Park June 4-5 to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its allies with a weekend of events with the theme of “Live Out Proud.”

Tickets are on sale now at dallaspride.org for the Dallas Pride Music Festival on Saturday, June 4, a family friendly event featuring a variety of musical and dance performances showcasing Texas talent. With indoor and outdoor activities and plenty to eat, see and shop, this is a day of fun for all ages.

In addition to the live music at the Dallas Pride Music Festival, more than 200 vendors will have booths for attendees to see and shop. Family Pride Zone, an area designed for families, will feature several bounce houses, face painting and entertainment for the kids in the Automobile Building at Fair Park. The festival also will feature Teen Pride, produced by Real Live Connection to foster a safe environment for LGBTQ+ youth ages 13 to 19 and their friends to enjoy live entertainment from artists and DJs, and other age-appropriate activities. Local animal rescue groups will also be on-site for guests to meet a possible new furry family member. The Dallas Pride Music Festival is Saturday, June 4, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., in Fair Park. Tickets are $10 for adults (ages 20+) and $5 for teens (ages 13-19). Admission for children 12 and under is free.

Dallas Pride’s 2022 theme, Live Out Proud, acknowledges the opportunity the LGBTQ+ community and its allies have to come together in person to acknowledge the legacy of the community, honor its history and celebrate the next chapter with pride.

“We are grateful for the support shown to our non-profit organization as Dallas Pride kept on pursuing its mission of strengthening, supporting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community by creating events and initiatives that foster connections between members of the community, our allies and our supporters,” said Jaron Turnbow, executive director of Dallas Pride. “And now, we are ready to ‘Live Out Proud’ together in a way that is perhaps more meaningful than ever.”

For those missing the most dazzling parade of the year, your wait is over: On Sunday, June 5, at 2 p.m., Dallas Pride’s Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade will celebrate in Fair Park, encircling the Cotton Bowl® Stadium with more than 200 parade entries, including fun floats, outrageous costumes, bands, performers and groups all marching to show support for the LGBTQ+ community. Admission is complimentary.

Dallas Pride is pleased to announce that its 2022 grand marshals for the Texas Freedom Parade are Danny Cabrera, David Hearn, Adam Medrano, Cassie Nova, Linze Serell and Kristi Wilson. Sable Alexander, who passed away in 2021, has been named an honorary grand marshal posthumously.

The first weekend in June will be one big weekend of Pride, as two great non-profit organizations, Dallas Pride and GDMAF, collaborate to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community. Both non-profits are offering events with exciting entertainment and unique experiences to raise awareness about issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community and support for those in need. Bringing together allies, donors, sponsors and supporters through a variety of events, GDMAF and Dallas Pride hope to elevate Pride for all. On Friday, June 3, GDMAF will host MetroBall XV. Then, Dallas Pride continues the celebration at Fair Park with the Dallas Pride Music Festival on Saturday, June 4, and the return of the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade at Dallas Pride in Fair Park on Sunday, June 5.

Dallas Pride is also pleased to inspire people to come together in support of the LGBTQ+ community throughout the year. On April 8, Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball will host a Pride night at Fair Park Coliseum. Fans can show their pride and receive a 20 percent discount on tickets by using the code PRIDE, and can interact with Dallas Pride at the games.
