Dallas Arboretum To Kick Off ZimSculpt Exhibit With Black Heritage Celebration

$15The Dallas Arboretum is hosting a special Black Heritage Celebration on May 1, 2021 to kick off its Summer of Sculpture exhibit. The exhibit features the return of ZimSculpt, a display of Zimbabwean Sculpture throughout the summer.
The day-long festivities include performances by Carter High School, Bishop Arts Theatre Center, and Dallas Black Dance Theatre ENCORE along with a Black vendor fair featuring 20 Black-owned businesses selling their artisans.
Additional scheduled activities include:
- 12 pm: Enjoy a cooking demonstration by Kevin the Pie Dude.
- 1 pm: Watch a Crown Jewel Fashion Experience fashion show under the direction of Anita Hawkins and Willie Johnson.
- 2-4 pm: Enjoy a concert by the Don Diego Band.
This event is included with general admission to the exhibit.
