Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins orders that face masks are required in certain public spaces in Dallas effective by 11:59 p.m. today, Aug 11.
This mandate applies to child care centers, Pre-K-12 public schools, businesses, and Dallas County buildings and facilities.
All schools and businesses in Dallas County are also required to implement a Health and Safety Policy and this policy must mandate that all employees and visitors wear a mask while on any property owned or operated by the business.
For common residential properties, such as laundry rooms, mailrooms, gyms, lobbies, and elevators, are subject to the mandatory face mask requirements included in this Order.
If businesses do not develop a Health and Safety Policy mandating masks, a business can be fined up to $1,000 for each violation starting at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Aug 14.
This face masks requirement made in this mandate is applied to both vaccinated and unvaccinated persons age 2 years or older for Dallas County.
For individuals who do not comply with the order, they will not face any civil or criminal penalty.
