Superb Woman: DR. MAUDE A. SMALL

Dr. Maude A. Small is a 2026 inductee into the African American Education Archives and History Program Hall of Fame. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School as Salutatorian and received an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority scholarship to Wiley College, graduating Summa Cum Laude in Mathematics. She taught at Madison High School, Sequoyah Junior High School, John Henry Brown Elementary and was Math Division Chair at Pearl C. Anderson. She obtained her master’s degree from NTSU in 1962. In 1970, Maude was moved to Skyline High School and became a guidance counselor. She obtained her Ed.D. from East Texas State University. In 1992, she served as Math Division Chair at Paul Quinn College for two years. Dr. Small was named Who’s Who Among College and University Professors.
