Nestled within the Lexus Box Garden and filled to the rafters of Legacy Hall in Plano’s Legacy West, the crowd witnessed a sold-out Juneteenth celebration in all its glory and vibrancy. The fourth annual Juneteenth Fashion Show on June 19, 2025, curated by Leah Frazier of Think Three Media, was an experience that excited attendees as it does each year.

This epic takeover for the culture on the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth was emceed by Lady Jade and comedian Michael Shawn, featuring over a dozen designers, including Kahindo from New York and local favorite, Venny Etienne, both of Project Runway fame.

A calming hush with lots of blushing, smiles and cheers came over the crowd as male models took the runway with classic, trendy and bold looks straight from lifestyle influencer Dr. Keith Harley’s closet.

The Juneteenth Fashion Show also featured student designers from Cedar Hill High School, with Frazier awarding scholarships to the top three in increments of $1000, $500 and $350; crowning Morgan Akins as the winner.

Surprise Fashion Icon, supporter and awards of excellence were presented to Catrina Henderson of Catrina the Creative, Lady Jade and Deah Berry Mitchell, delivering emotional responses from the unscripted moments.

Legendary band RC & the Gritz, led by RC Williams, performed live music through several sets while DJ Lukwon “Dr.” Mack kept music flowing from beginning to end and in between. Olivia Ibezim of Workout Olivia’s Ways led a line dancing segment, crowning a king and queen from audience contestants who volunteered to participate. There was a lively audience member runway contest as well, with the three youngest participants announced by Lady Jade as winners by default for their courage.

With this year’s theme of “We Are One,” and benefitting the National Juneteenth Museum, many attendees wore white, as encouraged, to honor the historical significance of Juneteenth, also explained during the event by historian Berry Mitchell.

The Juneteenth Fashion Show in Plano is a hot ticket that sells out quickly. Be sure to get your seat next year to experience thoughtful, meaningful and fashion forward views in celebration of togetherness.
