My Truth: Keeping your Eyes on the Prize

There are so many weapons of mass distraction coming into play and I am encouraging you to not get caught up. Do not take your eyes off of the prize. What is the prize? Good question!

Mail in ballots have gone out in some states.

November 5, 2024 is election day, when we will elect a new president of the United States of America. You also will get to vote for a number of other positions that are equally important.

President Ron Busby Sr. of the U.S. Black Chambers Inc., said you should “familiarize yourself with the policies and candidates that directly impact you and your community, so you can confidently cast your vote on Election Day—Tuesday, November 5th.”

Now I know you are being deluged with information about people, places and things. Diddy was indicted and denied bail; Darron Burks, Rich Homie Quan, James Earl Jones, Frankie Beverly, Chief Don Stafford, Ruby Brown, and Tito Jackson died; there was an alleged attempted murder; threats of school shootings; Beyonce snubbed by Country Music Awards; natural disasters and climate change effects; and more dominate headlines.

In no way am I minimizing the impact of the aforementioned events and there’s nothing we can do to alter those acts. What I am saying is we must deal with life is- sues while also handling our business. There’s been a lot of talk lately about “Black Jobs.”

If you have any doubt about what a “BlackJob” is, let me tell you, it’s any job that will help to make this world a better place. Everyone should have at least one Black Job, and at the top of the list, that job is to VOTE!
