OMG! Did you hear that Trump got shot at his campaign rally in Pennsylvania? Yes! On July 13, 2024 at 6:11 pm in gunshots were heard and took place leaving former President Donald Trump scared but not dead.
According to ABC News, the shooter had planned this assassination for days. ABC News also stated that: for several months the shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks had received several packages that some marked as possible hazardous material according to his shipping history. Crooks purchased 50 rounds of ammunition in a gun shop in Bethel Park, PA. Then on the day of the shooting he asked to borrow his dad’s AR- 15 rifle.
Now according to published timelines, 6:03 pm Trump took to the stage, then at 6:09 people warned the police officers that a gunman was on a roof. Minutes later the police went to see what the people were talking about but did nothing. 6:11 gunshots were fired at Trump.
Although Trump wasn’t killed, three of his supporters were shot, leaving one dead and others in bad shape. Firefighter, father and a big fan of Donald Trump was 50-year-old Corey Comperatore; who died from injuries as he tried to shield his family.
The two who were hospitalized are: David Dutch (57). David had suffered damage to his liver and broken ribs. James Copenhaver (74) was critically wounded.
After the incident President Joe Biden urged Americans to, “reject political violence and cool it down.”
Biden also said, “All of us now face a time of testing as the election approaches, there is no place in America for this kind of violence for any violence. Ever. Period. No exception. We can’t let this violence be normalized.”
Vice President Kamala Harris, United States Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Former President Barack Obama, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Congresswoman Val Demings all spoke out about the rally.
The vice president said, “Doug and I are relieved that he (Trump) is not seriously injured. We are praying for him, his family and all those who have been injured and impacted by the senseless shooting.
She also expressed her deepest condolences to the family of Corey Comperatore.
Following the incident, a Gofundme account was set up for Comperatore’s daughter and that fund has amassed $1,354,030 as of press time and another Support For Butler PA Victims – President Trump Authorized account has raised $6,553,930 raised, while a third memorial fund account has not received any donations.
