The Texas Metro News family was devastated to learn of the passing of James A. Washington; President of The Atlanta Voice, and Publisher Emeritus of The Dallas Weekly.

A servant leader and community supporter, James paved the way for many public relations and journalism students and professionals during his impressive career.

James was a proud Southern University Jaguar, who made a significant impact in the D/FW metroplex before moving to Atlanta and blazing trails there. He was passionate about lifting as he climbed, pouring into students as he taught at Tennessee State University and Paul Quinn College.

Services will be held in Atlanta, GA, on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Further updates will be provided at www.texasmetronews.com.
