Louis Edward Tiller 74, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born May 27, 1948, in Richmond, Virginia to parents Willard Tiller and Florence Harvey. After completing high school, Louis enlisted in the United States Army and worked as a Combat Engineer and Construction Engineering Supervisor. He went on to become a very decorated soldier receiving the Army Service Ribbon, 1 Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Air Assault Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with 5 Campaign Stars, Parachutist Badge, 3 Overseas Service Bars, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Badge m16 Rifle, and the Purple Heart Medal.
Following his decorated career in the military, he worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at several hospitals in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for over 30 years. He retired from Texas Health Resources Rockwall in 2017.
In his free time, Louis enjoyed watching sports, especially track and field, listening to music and watching tv news and animal shows. He loved to try different varieties of food and restaurants. Louis also delighted in supporting his grandchildren in all activities from singing recitals to soccer, volleyball, and football games.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 20 years, Patricia; his five daughters, Angela Thompson, Kimberly Ewing, Kendra (Brandon) Peoples, LaKeesha Davis and Keesheama Richardson; 10 grandchildren, of whom he was very proud, Nicole, Damien, Tori, Kalon, Kameron, Kason, Darius, Lyric, Sariah and Kamiah; 2 great-grandchildren De’Marea and Dejon; brother Terry (Helen) Tiller, sister Debbie (Curtis) Broughton and a host of relatives and friends. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family (especially those grandkids) will always be remembered. He will be dearly missed.
