Houston officials say Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was an “innocent bystander and was not armed” in the shooting.
Clark faces murder charges, according to police.
Houston police officials are searching for potential witnesses to help them in this investigation.
On Wednesday, authorities announced a man was charged in connection with the case. According to CBS news, prosecutors named 22-year-old Cameron Joshua as a suspect in the investigation but added that they did not believe Joshua fired the shot that took Takeoff’s life.
Joshua was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon at the time of Takeoff’s death.
Houston police previously said that at least two people discharged firearms when Takeoff was killed. Takeoff’s primary cause of death was listed as “penetrating gunshot wounds of head and torso into the arm,” according to an autopsy.
Takeoff, whose off-stage name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, formed one-third of the Grammy Award-nominated rap trio Migos with uncle Quavo and cousin Offset. The group formed when Takeoff was only 12. The group recently split.
Quavo and Takeoff recently released their collaborative album titled, “Only Built for Infinity Links” on Oct. 14.
The legendary Atlanta rapper was 28.
