In Remembrance Mrs. Jimmye Erline Waller

Jimmye Erline Waller was born on March 9, 1927, in Jacksonville, Texas to Arthur and Eutha Mae Walker who preceded her in death.

Jimmye accepted Jesus Christ an at early age serving with her God given talent of singing. She was currently a member of Point of Light Church. Previously she attended Second Mission Baptist Church in Corsicana, TX. She later became a member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, CA. There Jimmye continued her service to the Lord as a Choir Member for over 30 years.

On July 13, 1949, she married her college sweetheart, Henry H, Waller (Barney). To this union one daughter was born Billie Kaye Webb.

Jimmye graduated from Fred Douglass High School, Jacksonville, TX. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from Tillotson College in Austin, TX in 1949. During her college years Jimmye pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, hence one of reasons for loving red. Jimmye was a diligent worker and began her career as an educator in California. For over 25 years Jimmye was an educator and Director of Special Education in Oakland, California. Her diligence and passion for education was acknowledged by the Oakland School District in 1995 with a plaque of achievement as an Oakland Educator of Exceptional Children.

Jimmye was not only a devout educator but also a wonderful seamstress. She was poise and soft-spoken but enjoyed having a good time. She would often enjoy bowling with her family and playing games such as dominos. She held close to relationships she made as a member of a group called OK (Older Kids) Fellowship. It was with this group she also participated in bowling and loved to playing cards.

Jimmye is preceded by her husband Henry H. ‘Barney’ Waller after 51 years of marriage. Jimmye is also preceded by her father Arthur Walker, mother Eutha Mae Walker and brother Zelvin Walker. Jimmye is survived by daughter B. Kaye (Robin) Webb of Desoto, TX. To love and cherish her memories she leaves her grandchildren Louis Richardson of Desoto, TX; Christina Richardson of Cedar Hill, TX; Terri (Jasen) Ryder of Prosper, TX; and Angela Demery of Cedar Hill, TX. Jimmye is also lovingly remembered by her brother’s daughters, her nieces Pattie Walker and Barbara Walker, great-grandchildren Uriel Villarreal, Brayden Webb, Jaylen Demery, Liam Ryder, and Alyssa Demery, sister-in-law Sandra Seale, special friend Gregg Lawrence of Oakland, CA and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
