Zaretta Hammond is an educator, champion for equity, literacy and the science of learning, and best-selling author of “Culturally Responsive Teaching & the Brain. The founder and CEO of Transformative Learning Solutions, LLC, her impressive resume includes stints as Advisory Committee Member at Consortium of Reading Excellence (C.O.R.E.), Strategic Advisor at The Aspen Institute Education & Society Program, Board Trustee at the Center for the Collaborative Classroom, Lecturer — at Kalmanovitz School of Education, Saint Mary’s College of California, Curriculum Development Manager at National Equity Project, and Professional Development Specialist at Bay Area Coalition for Equitable Schools. She studied at the University of California, Berkley before receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from New York University and her Master’s in English Education from the University of Colorado.
