Review: CONFLICTED

CONFLICTED is a story about a Buffalo gangster who’s released from prison and finds himself drawn back into his old life of guns and drugs. Hunter, played by Deuce King, tries to go straight. He gets a straight 9-5 job and meets a beautiful real estate agent, April (Nekaya Griffith) and things seem to be on the right track.

Gradually Hunter goes back to his old ways of hanging out with criminals in the hood and getting reacquainted with contacts from his hustling days. Things get worse when his cousin is killed dealing drugs and he puts his new life on hold to seek revenge.

There are several side plots involving other gang members and girlfriends and their connection with the drug dealing world. The movie is hardcore but if you know about life on the streets CONFLICTED rings true with movie fans of this genre of movie.

It’s not BOYZ IN THE HOOD but it is a pretty good hardcore ganster film.

CONFLICTED is rated R for violence, language and rape and it has a run time of 2 hours and 10 minutes. On my “Hollywood Popcorn Scale” I rate this movie a MEDIUM.
