Rep. Jasmine Crockett Leads Bipartisan Resolution Honoring Texas Veterans

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Ahead of Veterans Day, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) introduced a bipartisan resolution honoring the heroic military service, sacrifices, and contributions of veterans from the great State of Texas. The resolution recognizes Texas’ proud legacy of military service and calls on Congress to strengthen its commitment to supporting veterans and their families.

Crockett was joined by a bipartisan group of Texas colleagues including Representatives Casar, Castro, Crenshaw, Doggett, Escobar, Garcia, Fletcher, Vicente Gonzalez, Gooden, Green, Johnson, Luttrell, McCaul, and Veasey.

“Texas is home to more veterans than any other state in the nation—and each one of them represents a story of courage, sacrifice, and love of country,” said Congresswoman Crockett. “This resolution honors their service, uplifts their legacy, and reminds us that our duty to our veterans does not end when their military service concludes. From improving access to healthcare and housing to increasing mental health services and job opportunities, we must match their service with our support.”

Texas has nearly 1.6 million veterans, including the largest population of women veterans in the country. The resolution recognizes the countless contributions of Texas veterans across every branch of service and every major conflict—from World War I to present-day operations—and acknowledges the 22,000 Texans who gave their lives during World War II and thousands more in subsequent conflicts.

The resolution also highlights the ongoing challenges facing veterans, including mental health struggles, homelessness, and barriers to employment, and calls on Congress to reaffirm its commitment to:

  • Ensuring veterans receive timely care and earned benefits;
  • Assisting service members as they transition to civilian life; and
  • Investing in vital programs that uphold the well-being and dignity of those who served.
