Vernetta Kinnard studied at Northwood University. She is CEO/Founder/President of Children on the Mend, Inc. (COTM) providing an alternative perspective and service that inspires youth and young adults to reach for their fullest potential while reducing negative emotional behaviors. Vernetta focuses on building positive traits of worthiness, promoting the importance of education, empowerment, self-esteem, motivation and spirituality. She worked as a Quality Assurance Administrator at Dallas County and was recognized as the Juvenile Department Employee of the Month (May 2021) for her hard work and dedication to meeting the demands of her position.

An eloquent speaker and community servant, Dr. Beverly Mitchell is a recipient of numerous awards including the Susan B. Anthony Award from the League of Women Voters.

In 1990 when she was named president and CEO, Dr. Beverly Mitchell Brooks became the first woman to head the Dallas Urban League. A graduate of Dillard University, she was the first Black student to earn a master’s degree in pure science from Texas Woman’s University. Dr. Mitchell-Brooks received her doctorate in molecular biology-biochemistry. Born, educated and raised in Sunny South Dallas, the member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has worked at the Environmental Protection Agency and the City of Dallas. A former director of the Greater Dallas Community Relations Commission, she served as director of public affairs for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).

A native of Plaquemine, LA, Bennyfer L. Bridgewater was initiated into the Beta Psi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., at Southern University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her excellence in her field was recognized even more when she was named Electrical Engineering Student of the Year her senior year. Bennyfer continued her education at the University of Texas at Dallas where she received her Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. A Professional Registered Parliamentarian in 2019, she is a member of various organizations including the National Association of Parliamentarians; American Society for Quality; and Louisiana Association of Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board. A Sr. Software Quality Engineer at Raytheon, Bennyfer is a past president of the Omicron Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she is also a certified graduate advisor.

After almost 30 years of leading diverse teams at Xerox, Linda McIntosh Todd retired as Global Client Manager, but also held several other management positions during her distinguished career. A graduate of Carter High School where she was in the National Honor Society, Lieutenant in the Drill Team (Carter Calicos), Homecoming Queen, Secretary of the Senior Class, Drill Team Lieutenant; she received a BBA Degree in Marketing from UTA and MBA from UTD. A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, she is also a member of The Links, Inc and she serves on the board of directors for the Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Linda is a long serving and faithful member of St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church and she serves on the board of Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Community Outreach Center. A wife, mother and grandmother, Linda also serves on the board of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and served as chair of its inaugural Black Heritage Celebration.
