Rev. Dr. Lucretia R. Facen’s path to ministry began in education and speech-language pathology before she answered her call to serve through the church. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of North Texas in 1983 and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology in 1985. Her professional background eventually led to a different kind of service by helping people and congregations grow through faith and community outreach. Rev. Facen serves as district superintendent of the Metro East District of the Horizon Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church. She previously served congregations in Dallas, Garland and Duncanville. Her journey shows how one person’s skills and calling can take different forms while remaining rooted in service.
