
Kendra Richardson is the founder and CEO of FunkyTownFridge, a Fort Worth community initiative working to improve access to healthy food and address food disparities. A Fort Worth native from the Stop Six neighborhood, Richardson earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a focus on cultural anthropology from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she also served as president of the NAACP. She founded FunkyTownFridge in 2020, creating community fridges and pantries that provide free food and other resources. The initiative now operates five community fridges across Fort Worth. Richardson is also a teacher, writer and public speaker who continues to use her work to promote community action, self-sufficiency and food access.
