Quit Playin’: Vote Tala Rico! – Fell the Rich?

“Portmanteau” is a French word for a two-sided suitcase. You use portmanteaus frequently and know them well. We use words like “Motel,” a blend of motor and hotel, or “brunch,” which literally and figuratively weds breakfast and lunch.

That said, there is another portmanteau worth introducing. This time, though, I used Google’s Spanish-to-English translator.

“Tala translates to ‘felling or bringing down. Rico means rich. God has a funny way of talking to us, but in my mind, he is telling us to vote for Talarico, because he will “fell or bring down the rich!”

The top 10% of wealthiest Americans hold over 68% of the country’s national wealth, while the bottom 50% collectively hold just 2.5%. I intend to vote on the first day, at the first hour possible, for James Dell Talarico.

The same Republican Party that is promising you everything from lower taxes total hair regrowth has had 30 years to deliver and has not. James Talarico is our only hope of ending the reign of greed, corruption, and racism that Texans have lived with for far too long.

Most Americans never had a problem with millionaires, billionaires, and perpetual wealth until the last few years. Hell, for the most part we didn’t know the names or faces of rich people. They played in their incestuous circles, segregated their children, and gated their communities.

You can make a case that the “old school” wealthy felt some need to be generous. Their names are splattered all around us at hospitals, thoroughfares, and charities. Whether it was an attempt to have their names live in perpetuity or not, we are all beneficiaries of their largesse in ledger transfers.

But this new group…Not so much. They are the loudest, crudest bunch of bastards ever known to man. The Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Mellons and Du Pont’s were pompous, but proper. That old money gang had class and style.

These new-age billionaires will be just as renowned in history but for all the wrong reasons. What changed? Glad you asked!

The 2010 landmark SCOTUS error we know as Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, a 5-4 ruling, split the court and split the chord. That chord that kept the rich from leaning too far into the one-man-one-vote guarantee was compromised, and we need to fix it.

Today we are plagued by people like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, the “Wannabe Trumps” and a whole bunch of billionaires and oligarchs who want political power commensurate with their wealth. This “Nouveau riche” crowd would rather one dollar one vote than one person one vote!

The rich must be stopped. Some guy in Austin sports a T-shirt that says, “Save the Planet! Erase a Billionaire! That sentiment is a “bit rich” for my blood. But we must elect officials who will erase Citizens United, 90% of the Trump doctrine and the Heritage Foundation’s evil manifesto we know as Project 2025.

James Talarico has the strategy and spirit we need in Washington, D.C. The same rich cartel that hoards most of America’s wealth put a bounty on his head. They are spending millions of dollars on PAC’s and dark money operations to fell his candidacy.

My prediction is that Talarico will “fell the rich!” And yes, that was my attempt at a double entendre.

So, on October 19th,  cast your ballot for James Dell Talarico, not just because he is a Democrat or because your favorite Democrat endorsed him. In a race against a known quantity like Paxton, voting for Talarico is a no-brainer! Even Republicans agree!

Vote Tala Rico!
