Velma went to Burnett High School, where she played basketball, and later attended Jarvis Christian College. Throughout her life, she brought determination and purpose to all she did. Velma also found joy in simple, spirited pleasures in her life. She enjoyed bowling, was a card-bid whiz, loved reading, and played the piano. These gifts and interests added color to her days and created fond memories for family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Phillip D. Coleman; her grandsons, Ashlee Coleman and Daniel Coleman; her great-granddaughter, Hanae Coleman; and her sister, Catherine Wattley. In their lives, her love continues, and in their memories, her presence remains a lasting blessing.
