My Truth: October 5: Don’t forget

Dear voters wherever you are.

I am in Texas, and I know the damage that has been done to registered voters here. While I want my Texas voters to check their records, I don’t want to leave anybody out.

Just as more than 1 million voters have been purged from the list in Texas, other places could be suffering the same fate.

With close to 20 million registered voters in Texas, we could do a lot of good, or bad.

Officials in the Secretary of State’s office say more than 1 million have been taken off the list, and if you are one of those who attempts to go to the polls on November 3, you’re going to be disappointed.

Now, forewarned is forearmed.

You have until October 5 to make sure you have everything in order. Take a few minutes and handle this important business. Don’t get blindsided. Don’t despair. Don’t let the devil’s dirty deeds determine our future.

Have you moved? Do you have the proper ID? Is your postman unreliable, causing you not to receive pertinent information?

Let’s not leave anything to chance, OK?

You need to vote, but you have to be registered.

Just imagine how much better this world would be if we had a fair and just society, throwing in a little compassion and common sense with a desire to make this world a better place for all, for the short time we have.

To ensure that your life really means something, and is about more than just existing.

I’ve heard people ask when someone dies, “Why them and not me?”

You need to try to find an answer to that question. We all need to, and maybe we would act more responsibly with the time we have on this earth.

You can check your voter registration status at votetexas.gov, or you can fill out a voter registration application immediately, and especially before the October 5 deadline.

We need you to vote early, and if you don’t, we need you to vote on Election Day—November 3, 2026.
