Dwaine Caraway, Hon. Casey Thomas, Tom Landry Jr., Victor Burke, Brad Sham, Joycelyn Johnson for Sen. Royce West, Tom Dunning, and Mrs. Ivette Norman, extolled the virtues of the scholar-athlete, humanitarian, entrepreneur, philanthropist, activist, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; as they explained why the ceremonial name changing of the Houston Street Viaduct Bridge was so appropriate.
