Witherite Law Group Donates 400 Backpacks to Support Third Annual Ron Murray School Supply Giveaway Events

Local law firm provides supply-filled backpacks to help DFW students with back-to-school essentials

Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck announced they are the primary sponsors of the Third Annual Ron Murray School Supply Giveaway events.  Murray, radio personality at Dallas’ K104 FM, coordinated the events to ensure children are equipped with the supplies necessary for the first day of school.  The two giveaways will take place on Saturday, August 3 and Saturday, August 10.  Location details for each are as follows:

Date:  Saturday, August 3
Time:  noon – 2 p.m.
Location:  Pinkston High School, 2815 Bickers St., Dallas, TX 75212
Date:  Saturday, August 10
Time:  noon – 2 p.m.
Location:  Seguin High School, 1001 Silo Rd., Arlington, TX 76202

Approximately 200 backpacks filled with supplies like composition books, erasers, folders, glue sticks, index cards, paper, pencils, pens and much more will be distributed at each location – a total of 400 backpacks sponsored by Witherite Law Group.  Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis; children must be present and will receive one backpack each while supplies last.  Mayor Muzik will DJ live from each event.

According to the National Retail Federation, families with children in elementary through high school plan to spend an average of $874.68 on clothing, shoes, school supplies and electronics. This is approximately $15 less than last year’s record of $890.07 but is the second-highest amount in the survey’s history.  Though inflation has slowed, prices remain elevated, forcing families to adjust their budgets or make other sacrifices to purchase every item on school supply lists.  Witherite Law Group and its partners are relieving some of the financial strain associated with back-to-school preparation.

“Summer break often means more funds allocated to food, extracurricular activities or even childcare, not to mention everyday expenses – families are already stretched,” said Amy Witherite, owner of 1-800-TruckWreck and founder of Witherite Law Group.  “We’re happy to partner with Ron Murray this year and in the future to provide students with the supplies they need to start the school year off right.”
