Mavs Josh Richardson Donates Shoes to Local Frontline Workers

He’s only been in Dallas a few months, but Josh Richardson is already giving back to the community.

The new Dallas Maverick–acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers this summer–recently donated 40 pairs of tennis shoes to the medical frontline workers at the Dallas-based UT Southwestern Medical Center.

In addition to the shoes, the healthcare workers were surprised with a Mavs drawstring bag, an MFFL hat and Mavs sunglasses. Richardson’s charitable act was a token of appreciation for the dedication the healthcare workers continually show to the community during the pandemic.

Richardson, who could not attend the presentation of the items in person due to being in the league’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, he thanked the frontline workers via video.

“It’s really important that you guys remember there are people out there thinking about you,” Richardson told the hospital workers in a special video. “I know this is tough, but I appreciate it and I know that everyone else appreciates your dedication through this pandemic.”
