The Dallas Mavericks spread holiday cheer with their annual Mavs Turkey Giveaway as part of the Mavs Season of Giving.
In partnership with Kroger, the official grocery store of the team, the Mavs provided 200 families served by Buckner International with full Thanksgiving meals including turkey, stuffing and more. Leading up to the socially distant Thanksgiving meal distribution, the Mavs staff volunteered to pack and load meal bags for the families that attended.
The drive-through event included appearances by Mavs Legends Cedric Ceballos, Erick Strickland, Josh Howard and Nick Van Exel along with Champ, the ManiAACs and MavsMan.
The Mavs Turkey Giveaway is part of the Season of Giving, where the Mavs and the NBA commit to serving the community to brighten the holiday season for thousands of children and families. The families received a frozen turkey, green beans, whole kernel corn, mashed potatoes, mini marshmallows, stuffing, 100% pure pumpkin, jellied cranberry, yams, cake mix, frosting and reusable bags from Kroger.
Buckner International is a global faith-based ministry dedicated to transforming and restoring the lives of the vulnerable children, families and seniors they serve.
