Rev. Ronald Johnson was born July 11, 1955, to the late Willie Bernice Smith and Peter Briggs in Dallas, TX. He was educated in the Dallas Independent School District, and he graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1975.

Ronald’s life-long commitment to Christ began at an early age when he joined the New Mount Moriah Baptist Church under Pastor Greer where he was baptized. He later served as a Deacon under Pastor H.H. Banks and Pastor Gerald Britt.

Later he accepted the call to preach the gospel in December 2012 and was licensed at New Beginnings Community Fellowship under Dr. Rodney Frazier.

Ronald was the master of many trades. He started his work life in the area of flooring that was instilled and taught by his late step father, Alonzo Smith. Ronald moved on to owning his own business as a Flooring Specialist. He was truly dedicated to providing for his family.

Ronald was an inspiration to all through his heartfelt love for the Lord and his ongoing commitment to serving others through sacrificial love and devotion, particularly in their time of need.

On June 26, 1993, he married the love of his life, Vanessa Reed. At the time of death they were married 29 years.

Preceded in death by his Parents; Sister: Willie Joyce Whorton; Aunt: Marlene Pruitt.

He leaves to cherish his wife: Vanessa Johnson; Children: Quincy Johnson (Dr. Talia), Korey Johnson, Justin Johnson (Tarrah) and Xavier Johnson; God Daughter: Jessica Crawford (Brandon); Special Niece: Felicia Frazier (Dr. Rodney); Sisters: Carolyn Goodjoint, Helen Jackson, Evelyn Dancer, Shuanna Johnson (Lamont); Brothers: Cecil Johnson (Linda) and Donald Johnson Sr. (Wanda); Two Step-sisters: Marshall Ford and Sabrina Ford; Two Aunts: Barbara Nixon and Cellious Taylor; Eight Grandchildren; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
