Rebecca Aguilar sworn in as the 105th President of Society of Professional Journalists. She is the FIRST LATINA NATIONAL PRESIDENT for SPJ!
She’s a multiple Emmy award-winning reporter and Emmy nominated TV commentator. She has 36 years of experience. Most of her career has been in television broadcast news, but she also has experience in radio, print and online. She’s also a senior correspondent for Texas Metro News.
Rebecca has worked in Toledo, Chicago, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Dallas. She has 50 awards and nominations for her journalism work, and two national awards for social media.
She’s the former VP of Online for the National Association of Hispanic Journalists where for more than three years she managed the social media platforms. She also was VP of Membership for the Society of Professional Journalists, Fort Worth Chapter.
