Two days before it was scheduled to play its first home game of the season, Highland Park was looking for a new opponent.

Mesquite Horn had to cancel Friday’s game at Highland Park for COVID-19 reasons, Highland Park athletic director Johnny Ringo said Wednesday. It is the fourth Week 2 game in the Dallas area that has been canceled for COVID reasons.

It didn’t take Highland Park long to find a replacement. It will now play Flower Mound at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Highland Park. Last week, Garland Naaman Forest had to cancel its first three games of the season, including this week’s game against Flower Mound.
