Ken Paxton No-Shows Interview with Dallas Morning

News Editorial Board

Yesterday, James Talarico interviewed with the Dallas Morning News editorial board. Meanwhile, Ken Paxton did not respond to invitations to meet.

“Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico met with the Dallas Morning News editorial board Sunday, a week before early voting begins in his race against Republican Ken Paxton. Paxton did not respond to a similar invitation to meet with The News,” wrote the Dallas Morning News.

“I am meeting with newspapers across the state because Texans deserve to know where I stand on the issues that matter to them,” said James Talarico. “Meanwhile, Ken Paxton is no-showing meetings with editorial boards and literally running away when voters ask him questions. If I had Ken Paxton’s career of corruption, I wouldn’t want to answer questions either. But Ken Paxton is asking for Texans’ vote, and they deserve to know the full truth about who he is and what he stands for.”

Paxton’s no-show follows a pattern of running away from tough questions. Talarico has challenged Paxton to five televised debates — including one on Fox News moderated by Bret Baier, which Fox confirmed — and Paxton has refused to answer any of them. When asked about skyrocketing gas prices and his colleague Bo French’s racist comments, Paxton ran away.
