GLENN HEIGHTS, TX – The City of Glenn Heights is launching Second Saturdays, a new recurring community marketplace designed to connect residents with local entrepreneurs, small businesses, farmers, food vendors, makers, and service providers.
The initiative will create a central gathering place where residents can shop locally, support small businesses, enjoy food trucks, purchase fresh produce and specialty goods, and discover businesses and talent throughout the community.
“We are creating more than a market. Second Saturdays is about creating opportunity, strengthening local entrepreneurship, and giving residents another reason to spend locally and support the businesses that help our community grow,” said Mayor Sonja A. Brown. “Launching just in time for the holiday season makes this an especially exciting opportunity to keep more of our dollars circulating within our local economy.”
The inaugural Second Saturdays event is scheduled for October 17 at the Glenn Heights Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Park & Ride (1200 E Bear Creek Rd) from 9 am – 1 pm. Businesses, vendors, farmers, food providers, food truck operators, artisans, and service providers interested in participating are encouraged to contact the City of Glenn Heights for registration and vendor information.
Second Saturdays is expected to continue as a monthly community marketplace, providing an ongoing opportunity to shop local, spend local, and support local.
