The 2021 graduates of the Young Women’s Preparatory Network were treated to graduation gift baskets during a ceremony in the parking lot of the Dallas Mavericks headquarters.

The celebration for the Dallas, Grand Prairie and Fort Worth Seniors was filled with music, entertainment by the MAVS Maaniaccs and more.

For the past several weeks, the Mavs and partner Chime shopped to fill and surprise the graduates with specifically tailored gift baskets. The baskets included a Surface Pro laptop or Beats Headphones, $250 in gift cards, a Chime gift of $200 cash, $100 worth of college gear, and a book picked out for the graduates by Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall. Each college basket was valued at a minimum of $1,275 for a total donation of more than $133,875 for these college-bound seniors.

“After such an unprecedented year, we are excited to honor and celebrate these fabulous graduates,” said Marshall. “The future looks promising with these bright minds, and we want to make sure they are set up for success.”
