Karmelo Anthony’s family is calling on supporters to show up in Collin County as two court hearings approach. A Motion to Recuse hearing is scheduled for August 19, 2026 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Motion for New Trial hearing on August 20.Karmelo was found guilty
of fatally stabbing fellow student-athlete Austin Metcalf. With a new legal team, the family is asking supporters, activists, community leaders and organizations to attend peacefully and stand together as Karmelo’s legal team continues challenging the case.
