OBIT: BOBBY PHILLIPS

In the quiet hush of a Dallas summer, Bobby Phillips slipped from this world and into memory on June 20, 2026, in the city that had always been his own.

In the quiet hush of a Dallas summer, Bobby Phillips slipped from this world and into memory on June 20, 2026, in the city that had always been his own. Born on October 9, 1956, also in Dallas, Texas, Bobby’s journey began beneath the wide, blue Texas sky—a fitting stage for a life marked by unwavering presence and quiet resilience.

Bobby’s days traced the rhythm of this vibrant city. From childhood to his final sunset, Dallas was the constant thread, weaving his experiences and shaping his perspective. Those who knew Bobby remember a man who embodied loyalty—to place, to friends, to the subtle joys in daily living. He was a son of Dallas, devoted to its streets and seasons, carrying its stories in the curve of a smile or a gentle word.

Though time and circumstance have not recorded every detail of Bobby’s milestones, what remains undimmed is the feeling he left behind: the sense of steadiness in his company, the generosity whispered through countless everyday kindnesses, and the silent but profound impact he had on those fortunate enough to share in his orbit. His absence hangs softly in the familiar air, where countless memories echo.

To bid farewell and celebrate his life, those grieving and remembering Bobby are invited to gather for a Wake and Prayer Service at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The Funeral Service will follow on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM, again at Golden Gate Funeral Home. Later that afternoon, at 1:30 PM, Bobby will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX—a final return to the soil that first welcomed him.

Now, as Dallas continues on beneath its endless sky, the spirit of Bobby Phillips endures—in the places he cherished and in the hearts shaped by his steadfast presence. May his memory, lasting as the summer sun, light the way for all who hold him dear. To send flowers or plant a memorial tree in memory, please visit our flower store.
