Join me as we educate the masses.

The Don’t Believe the Hype Celebrity Bowl-a-thon, on this Saturday at 6 pm at Plano Super Bowl is the place to be.

We will be bowling, dancing, and having a good time after enjoying a wonderful dinner.

What’s on the menu?

How about some barbecue chicken and barbecue beef, potato salad, macaroni and cheese and baked beans filled with barbecue brisket?

Are you interested?

Yes, we’re going to have some corn bread and guess what? We are also going to have apple cobbler and fruit on the side.

Now what would a Texas barbecue be without some tea?

That’s right; we’re not serving you that hotel food. We’re going to treat you right and raise money for scholarships, internships, fellowships, and jobs.

We’ve been doing it since 1995 and we’re not stopping. Nothing can stop us because we realize what we have a moral obligation to do.

Please join us. You may have come to past events and I hope you enjoyed them.

In advance, I want to thank all those supporters who said, “I’ll be at the Democratic convention, I’m going to The Links Assembly, or ‘my family reunion is out of town.”

You still know the work that we’re doing and say, “I’m going to write that check. I’m going to make that deposit so that you can keep doing the work.”

You’ve seen the students participating in journalism workshops, going on trips and getting employed and coming back to give to their community—just as Trina Terrell-Andrews, Briana Jones-Gill, Rodney Thrash, Ron Murray, Andre Smith, Royle King, Shane Hefner, Jerve Williams, Cierra Mayes, and so many others who have benefited from the bowlathon are leading successful lives today.

Won’t you come out and support? Won’t you make a contribution?

I’m not too proud to beg for our children’s future.

Dr. Michael Sorrell at Paul Quinn College says, “Leave this place a better place, leave any place you are better than when you got there.”

What better way than to invest in future generations?
