A Collin County court released graphic evidence Friday from the Karmelo Anthony murder trial, including 911 calls, crime scene photographs, autopsy images, bloody clothing exhibits, photos of the suspected weapon and surveillance footage from Kuykendall Stadium.

The 296 District Court posted the materials publicly 10 days after Anthony was convicted on June 9 of murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a Frisco track meet. Anthony has filed a notice of appeal.

The files include multiple emergency calls placed from the track meet, photographs from the stadium, images of the suspected weapon, autopsy photographs and dozens of family photos of Anthony that were presented during the trial. The release also includes grainy, long-distance surveillance video from an east stadium camera, showing a wide-angle view of the confrontation and its immediate aftermath.

Anthony, a former Frisco Centennial High School student, was convicted in Metcalf’s death after a two-week trial. His defense argued he acted in self-defense. Jurors rejected that argument and sentenced him to 35 years in prison.

Prosecutors said the confrontation erupted April 2, 2025, under a  Frisco Memorial High School team tent where athletes had taken shelter from severe weather. Metcalf, a Frisco Memorial High School student-athlete, was stabbed once in the chest and died at the scene.

The case drew national attention and intense online debate, including arguments centered on race, public protests, online threats and allegations of doxing involving people connected to the trial.

The newly released evidence gives the public access to key audio and visual materials jurors considered during the trial.
