Michael Earl Williams, known affectionately as “Tank,” passed away on April 25, 2026. Born on April 1, 1957, in the vibrant city of Dallas, Texas, Michael lived a life deeply etched with warmth, humor, and an enduring sense of calm. His presence was a gentle breeze on a hot summer day — good-natured, funny, relaxed, and laid back, he had a quiet strength and a fierce devotion to those he held dear.

Michael’s journey was marked by honor and service; he proudly served in the Army, answering a call greater than himself. Beyond his military years, Tank carried with him the values of discipline and dedication, qualities that intertwined with his artistic spirit.

He was an artist of life and music, a man who found solace and expression through the strings of his guitar. His soul danced to the rhythms of country and rock n’ roll, full of passion and ease. While strumming a heartfelt tune, Michael’s creative talents were a testament to the rich inner world that he carried quietly and generously.

Family was the cornerstone of Michael’s existence. He loved fiercely and trusted openly, embodying a rare blend charm and steadfast dependability. His laugh was contagious, his stories unforgettable, and his spirit forever anchored in those he loved.

To commemorate his vibrant life, a memorial service will be held on May 11, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. Following this, at 2:30 PM, Michael will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211, where he will rest among compatriots and in the embrace of his beloved homeland.

As we remember Michael Earl Williams, “Tank,” we are reminded not just of the man he was, but of the life he lived—one filled with melody, color, and an unshakable sense of self.
