With solemn hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Corey Dee Dukes, a cherished son, devoted father, and beloved friend, who departed this life on April 8, 2026, in Dallas, TX. Born in Bossier City, LA, on February 7, 1991, Corey’s vibrant spirit touched all fortunate enough to know him.

Corey’s journey began in the halls of Carter High School, from which he graduated in the class of 2010, setting a foundation of strength and character that defined his life. Known as a jokester with an infectious smile, Corey had a natural gift for getting along with everyone he met. His respectfulness and warm-hearted nature made him not only a joy in social gatherings but also a reliable pillar for those around him.

Throughout his life, Corey was ever willing to lend a hand, displaying an unwavering supportiveness and encouragement that embraced family and friends alike. These qualities shone brightest in his role as a loving father—a title he wore with pride and tenderness. Among his proudest accomplishments was raising his daughters, Cornae Dukes and Patience Roberson, who will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience.

Corey’s passions revealed a man deeply connected to simple joys: hunting in the great outdoors, engaging friends and family in spirited games of dominoes, immersing himself in gaming adventures, and losing himself in the melodies of music. Through all of these, his laughter and playful jokes created treasured memories that now live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

He is survived by devoted parents, Cedric and Cornelia Dukes; his daughters, Cornae Dukes and Pashience Smith; his brother Cedric Edwards and wife Lateya; his grandmother Dorothy Dukes; six devoted uncles; two aunts; and a host of cousins, friends, and extended relatives who will forever remember his kindness and smile.

Corey was preceded in death by his grandfather James Otis Dukes and Tommy Jr. Hicks, grandmother Ola Mae Edwards, aunt Annie Dotie, uncle David Edwards, and cousin Cameron Dukes. Their memories are woven into the fabric of his life and will reside alongside his in the cherished stories and enduring love shared by his family and community.

A Prayer Service will be held on April 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. The Funeral Service will follow the next day, April 14, 2026, starting at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. These moments will offer a peaceful gathering for all to honor a life marked by generosity, laughter, and unwavering love.

Corey Dee Dukes’ departure leaves a silence echoing through those who knew him—a silence punctuated by memories, laughter, and the enduring warmth of a spirit that will never be forgotten. His journey may have ended, but the love he sowed will forever blossom in the hearts he touched so deeply.
