ELLIS COUNTY – Last week, a 20-year-old male from Red Oak, Lito Antonio Thomas, was arrested for defacing political signs.
The signs belonged to a candidate for U.S. Representative, James Buford; a candidate for Ellis County Judge, Kameron Raburn; and a candidate Texas Senate, David Cook.
The words were spray-painted in yellow with writing that pertained to something Thomas wanted to do with Trump.
Thomas was caught in the act of the crime by a County constable driving by on 287 across from Waxahachie High School.
Vandalism is against the law in Texas and is considered criminal mischief. It involves intentionally damaging or defacing property without consent, with penalties ranging from Class C misdemeanors to state jail felonies.
