The Nest at The Shops at RedBird held a community of dignitaries and attendees who reflected on memories and praised the rebirth of an historic place to conclude a weekend celebration of 50 years of existence. The RedBird 50th Anniversary Refresh Sunday Gospel Brunch featured performances by Grammy award-winning artist Myron Butler, gospel recording artist Gaye Arbuckle, the DFW Mass Legacy Choir and a premiere of the documentary, “RedBird Rising.” Well over 300 guests were entertained while dining on brunch from The Breakfast Brothers and overflowing drinks and mimosas. Hosted by media personality Lady Jade, guests also heard remarks from The Shops at Redbird majority owner and co-developer Peter Brodsky, co-developer Terrence Maiden, event sponsor Comerica’s Tim Maiden, journalist Tashara Parker and opening and closing prayers from Pastor Bryan Carter of Concord Church. The event also featured a special tribute to community maven Edna Pemberton who died earlier this year.
