OBIT: VAN BROWN

Van Brown, a dedicated servant to his community, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on February 16, 1947, in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, he lived a full and impactful life marked by his unwavering commitment to public service.

For over 25 years, Van devoted himself to the Fort Worth Police Department, where he exemplified leadership, bravery, and compassion in his daily duties. His colleagues regarded him as a mentor and friend, embodying the principles of integrity and service that are essential in law enforcement. In addition to his commitment to public safety, Van proudly served in the United States Army, where he honed his sense of duty and discipline, values that guided him throughout his life.

Van is survived by his loving spouse, Rose Brown, and his two daughters, Pam and Valarie. His family remembers him not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his kind spirit, infectious laughter, and the love he shared with those around him.

The community he served mourns the loss of a remarkable individual, whose legacy will be felt for years to come. The world is diminished without him, but his memory and contributions to the lives he touched will endure.

A Prayer Service will be held in his honor on August 5, 2025, at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas (Allene) located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224, starting at 7:15 PM with the service concluding at 8:15 PM.

Following this, a Funeral Service will be conducted on August 6, 2025, at River of Life, 335 South Parks Drive, DeSoto, TX 75115 at 11:00 AM Later that day, Van will be laid to rest with honors at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211, starting at 2:15 PM and concluding at 3:15 PM.
